Guide Review – Review of Everyday Minerals Tinted Silk Dust
This lightweight powder is a great way to finish off a mineral makeup look and to keep your face from getting shiny almost all day long.
Everyday Minerals has several different finishing powders to choose from in a variety of shades, but I wanted one that wouldn’t add any additional color on top of my foundation. After initially being drawn to their Silk Dust, which is white, I read some customer reviews that complained about it leaving a white residue on their face. So I opted for the Tinted Silk Dust instead.
The tinted version is barely tinted to an eggshell white color. Just a light dusting is needed to finish off your foundation, and it blends in seamlessly, adding no additional color or leaving any white residue. On mild days it manages to keep any oiliness from appearing, and my face was as shine-free at night as it was that morning when I left the house.
Unfortunately, when summertime in the city comes, there’s no such thing as a mild day. Once the heat and humidity set in, my face would start to show some shine by mid-afternoon. Following another user tip, I applied a light layer of the powder on my face before my foundation, then another after, which seems to help on those especially humid days.
But I always keep a pack of blotting papers in my purse, knowing that it’ll take a lot more than a powder to keep me shine-free on a humid day. So overall, this is a great powder for finishing off your mineral makeup, and for keeping the “oilies” away almost all day.
Review of Everyday Minerals Peach Color Corrector
Geared for masking dark under-eye areas, this peach concealer helps, but it’s not the cure-all that Everyday Minerals’ Mint Color Corrector is.

- Blends in well with mineral foundations
Cons
- Doesn’t completely mask under-eye circles
- Several layers need to be applied before there’s any coverage
- As with all of Everyday Minerals’ products, it’s a powder, so it can be messy if you’re not careful
- Only available for purchase online

- Available sizes: sample – 5ml ($2.50), mini – 10ml ($4), or big – 25ml ($8)

Guide Review – Review of Everyday Minerals Peach Color Corrector
Like most women, I tend to always have some darkness under my eyes, no matter how many hours of restful sleep I may get. After reading several glowing reviews of Everyday Minerals’ Peach Color Corrector on the MakeupAlley forums, I decided to give it a try. The results were decidedly mixed.
The concealer is easy to apply, and since it’s a powder, there’s no need to rub it into that sensitive under-eye area, as you might need to do with a liquid or creamy concealer. But to even out any of the darkness I had to brush on multiple layers of the powder. I also made the mistake of not using any kind of primer under my eyes the first time I tried it, which led to a streaky application.
After applying 3-4 layers, I figured that was as good as it was going to get, and moved on to apply my mineral foundation. The peach concealer blended in well with the foundation, so I’m wasn’t left with noticeably weird peach rings under my eyes.
But the final look wasn’t exactly what I was hoping for. The darkness was definitely minimalized, but not gone. I’ll continue to use my supply until it runs out, but I won’t be reordering once it does.

This minty green concealer gives a whole new meaning to “going green”. Whether your face suffers from severe redness, or you just have a blemish or two you want to conceal, a little dab of this mineral makeup works wonders.

- Easy to apply
- A little goes a long way; the product will last a long time
Cons
- As with all of Everyday Minerals’ products, it’s a powder, so it can be messy if you’re not careful
- Only available for purchase online

Guide Review – Review of Everyday Minerals Mint Color Corrector
No matter how well I cleanse my face, or how hard I try not to touch my face during the day, I always seem to have a blemish or two that needs some disguising. A makeup-savvy friend of mine clued me into using a green concealer to hide redness on my face, and once she assured me I wouldn’t look like The Incredible Hulk, I decided to give it a try. I initially tried another brand of creamy concealer but found that while it did somewhat reduce the redness on my face, it was hard to blend into my skin and didn’t really cover that well. Then once I put my creamy foundation over it, I was left with a very unnatural and caked-on look.
Luckily, I decided to give Everyday Minerals a try, thanks to their offer of a free sample kit. You can get one concealer in the sample kit, so I decide to give going green another try with their Mint Color Corrector. And that may be one of the best decisions I’ve ever made (makeup-wise, anyway).
The concealer is a light, minty green powder that brushes on easily, blends in flawlessly with your foundation, and conceals redness all day long.
Just the tiniest bit of powder is needed to cover any blemishes or red spots (I use a small eyeshadow brush to apply mine), so be sure to apply with a light hand, unless you relish looking like the Wicked Witch of the West. Considering so little of the product is needed per application, your supply will last for ages. I’m still using the sample size I received weeks ago, and it looks like it’ll last me several months. So whatever size you choose, you’ll definitely get your money’s worth. Even if you’re one of those lucky women whose blemishes are few and far between, it is an excellent product to add to your arsenal for those occasions when a bit of creative camouflaging is needed.
