I like to think of Everlane as the Apple of the fashion world. It’s evolutionary, modern, sleek, and the overall aesthetic is clean and pleasing to the eye. The only real difference is you can’t talk to your shirt to ask vital questions–like where’s the best place to hide a body (Siri will actually answer this question).
If you’ve never heard of Everlane, now’s the time to jump on the bandwagon.
There are a plethora of reasons to love the brand, and we’ve put a spotlight on all those reasons along with our favorite items from the brand for you to shop. By the time you’re finished reading, you’ll love Everlane just as much as we do.
Radical Transparency
We love this brand for all of its radical transparency. Everlane believes that it’s imperative to know everything that goes into your clothing–the factories and the costs. They’ve scouted out the best factories (the very same ones that produce designer labels) and their hands-on approach has allowed them to build invaluable relationships with these factories. This is great for customers like us who care about the integrity of where our clothing comes from.
You can read all the details about the factory that each individual item is produced at–including the material they produce, the location, the owner, the employees, and how Everlane came to find them–when you click into each product.
Because Everlane is solely an e-tailer (only sold online), they’ve cut down costs by eliminating the need for a middleman. Also, with their Transparency Pricing policy, Everlane showcases the exact cost of every item you’re interested in. Not only that, but they compare their costs to traditional retailers, and you won’t believe the difference!
Everlane Now
The major downside of ordering online is the wait. When you buy something, you want that instant gratification, rather than impatiently waiting by your mailbox every day (a watched mailbox doesn’t fill up, sadly). Everlane has solved this problem! Well, at least if you live in NYC or San Francisco. If you’re one of the lucky many who does, you can order from a selection of products that will arrive at your location in an hour or less (between 9 am and 6 pm)!
I once ordered a couple of tees that arrived within 20 minutes and I felt smugly satisfied with life for the rest of the day.
Choose What You Pay
There are some items on Everlane’s site that don’t have any price listed. Instead, you get to choose what you pay. This happens when Everlane overproduces an item and wants to reduce overstock. Usually, when this happens, a company will just put a sale price on the item. But Everlane gives the power to the consumer and you literally choose how much you pay from 3 price options.
Yes, in some sense it seems pretty silly because we can assume most everyone will choose the lowest price.
However, it’s a pretty genius marketing move on Everlane’s part because selecting the price you pay makes you feel in control and like you’re getting the best possible deal for yourself.
The Best of The Basics
If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll have noticed we talk about the basics a lot. If you’re new to our page, let me fill you in: basics, or wardrobe essentials, are items that every woman should have in her closet, i.e. a black blazer, a striped tee, a silk button-down, black trousers, skinny jeans, the list goes on. These items are so crucial to your wardrobe because of how versatile they are; they tie everything together so you never have “nothing to wear.”

Showroom Parties
If you need solid proof that Everlane products are high quality and fit well, you should start following them on Twitter or subscribe to their email list. Every once in a while, Everlane will host private showroom parties where you can go in, try on whatever they’re showcasing, meet with their friendly and helpful staff, and–the best part–eat free food!
I went to one of their shoe showcases once and was glad I did because I tried on a pair of shoes I’d been eyeing, only to realize I needed 2 sizes larger than I had originally thought.
I was thankful I hadn’t yet ordered them and instead purchased the right pair on the spot.
Free Purchasing-Credit
After I had made a few purchases at Everlane, I received an email from a brand representative simply asking what I thought of the product I had just bought. Most of the time, it’s my instinct to ignore these emails but I was in a good mood that day and responded with one or two sentences of my thoughts. To my happy surprise, I received a response soon after thanking me for my feedback and offering me a credit toward my next purchase.
Let this be a lesson to you: don’t be like me and ignore brands who email you directly; respond, and get yourself some free credit!
Facebook Messenger
If you’re like me and you get so many emails that you tend to overlook a few here and there, then you probably love it when brands find better ways to get in touch with you. Everlane uses Facebook Messenger and it’s surprisingly efficient. I can check my order status, ask questions, or just chat aimlessly with a friendly neighborhood Everlane rep whenever I’d like. It’s the ideal situation for both my overflowing inbox and my overwhelming tendency to feel in control (including order status).
