The Best Concealers According to Makeup Artists
The Best Concealers According to Makeup Artists.

Are you in the market for a new concealer? Pay attention because these are the best concealers according to makeup artists.

It doesn’t matter whether you are looking for a concealer to cover your dark under-eye circles or you want one that covers pimples; you expect certain things. The right concealer helps even out your skin tone but doesn’t crease or enhance fine lines and wrinkles. You also want one that matches your skin tone exactly, and that isn’t too yellow. If you need a new concealer but don’t know where to begin, we asked makeup artists what their favorite products are. We’ve found out their favorite eyeliners, mascaraslip glosseslipsticks, and eyeshadows, so read on to find out what concealers get their seals of approval.

Check out the concealers that have earned a spot in makeup artists’ kits:

1. Radiant Creamy Concealer, NARS

NARS has been featured a lot in our Makeup Artists’ Picks series. Both Forward Artists makeup artist Samuel Paul and makeup artist and Artis brush founder Matthew Waitesmith selected this buildable concealer. Matthew advises, “Be sure to use a great brush when applying this so that it doesn’t get too layered. Works great in conjunction with the foundation.” If you want to test it out, a few shades come in budget-friendly travel sizes.

2. Secret Cover Concealer Cream, Milani Cosmetics

Concealer is all about covering up any blemishes without looking like a concealer cake face. Taraji P. Henson’s makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff likes this affordable one. She explains, “This concealer is lightweight, crease-proof, and truly covers skins imperfections without looking chalky.”

3. Concealing Pen, Tom Ford

If you are looking to splurge on a great concealer, Forward Artists makeup artist Kathy Jeung loves this one. It’s great for minimizing redness and under-eye circle. She says, “The circular sponge tip is the perfect shape for under the eyes, and the creamy formula gives full coverage that lasts without creasing.”

4. Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer, It Cosmetics

Makeup artist and lash designer Monika Crouch chose a brand that has a great range of concealers. She explains, “Lately, I’ve really been loving the It Cosmetics concealers. They have a few of them, and I really love them all. The Bye Bye Under Eye and CC Concealer with SPF are wonderful.”

5. CC+ Eye Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream Concealer SPF 50+, It Cosmetics

This was Monika Crouch’s second pick. There is a lot going on in this little tube. It reduces puffiness, makes your eye area look brighter, minimizes the appearance of dark circles, and contains SPF 50+.

6. timeBalm Concealer, The Balm

Makeup artist Birchbox Brand Ambassador and vlogger Tati Westbrook have high praise for this product. She says, “Hands down the best multi-use concealer. This stuff covers dark circles in a snap and does not crease…at all! I also use this to prime my eyelids for shadow.”

7. Full Cover Concealer, Make Up For Ever

Makeup artist, Jade Marie’s pick, is actually described as an “extreme camouflage cream,” but don’t be intimidated. If you haven’t tried the baking technique, Jade Marie states it is great for that. She says, “[It’s] great for covering dark spots. Apply a good amount of the setting powder to the concealer, and let it bake for 10 to 20 minutes. Once it is done baking, dust off excess powder with fan brush.”

8. Sensual Skin Enhancer, Kevyn Aucoin

Makeup artist Jose Corella’s pick is pricey, but a little goes a long way. He says, “This concealer really packs into the skin to provide strong and long-lasting coverage. However, it is very thick, so apply sparingly under the eyes, bridge, nose, and a little in the middle of the forehead.”
