My Before & After Photos Prove Just How Well This Green-Tinted Primer Reduces Redness

When it comes to makeup products, I am not the kind of girl who likes to stick to Old Faithful. I’m always on the hunt for the cutting edge, the latest and greatest, the next best thing. My bathroom cabinet is in serious danger of crashing to the floor under the weight of my beauty and skincare products, but I really can’t help myself. I have an incurable case of the “grass is always greener on the other side” disease, which means I am physically unable to stop buying new products. (It’s a real thing, guys. Look it up on WebMD!)

With that being said, I’m no dummy. I know when I come across a truly great product, and when I do, I hold on tight. Take, for example, Benefit’s Roller Lash mascara, which I raved about on Blufashion a few months ago. I love that mascara so much that I don’t even feel tempted to take any other ones out for a test drive. Another beauty product that will forever have a place in my makeup bag is Pür Minerals 4-in-1 Pressed Powder. It’s the single best thing that ever happened to my super red and blotchy complexion… Until I started using Pür Mineral’s color-correcting green-tinted primer, that is.

(And before you ask, no, I’m not on Pür Minerals’ payroll. They just make a mighty fine bunch of products over there. Mighty fine indeed!)

Any woman who fights the good fight against red and blotchy skin will tell you that green-tinted primer is the elixir of the gods. Nothing–and I do mean nothing–can calm and conceal angry red cheeks like a green-tinted primer can. However, not all elixir was created equal. Out of the four or five different green primers I’ve tried in the past, none could match the long-lasting coverage I got from Pür Minerals.

Pür Minerals primer is gluten-free, paraben-free, and vegan friendly, so that’s gotta win it some brownie points, right?

Not only do I get great coverage from the Pür Minerals primer, but it also feels really light on my skin, blends super well, and has a nice, earthy sort of scent. Most impressively, a pea-sized amount of the product is nearly enough to cover your entire body. Seriously, this stuff spreads like a dream. When I first bought it, I kept squeezing out way more than I needed, which is a damn shame. I have to stifle a sob when I think about all of the elixirs I inadvertently wasted in those dark days.

Now that you’ve had a proper introduction to the product, there’s nothing left to do but see it in action. Without further ado, here’s a picture of my freshly scrubbed and moisturized face:

Much, much better, don’t you think? I no longer look like I just ran a marathon in the middle of winter, but I also don’t look like I’m, you know, dead. The primer leaves me with just enough color to convince people that I’m still alive, which is exactly the look I’m going for!

And here’s what my skin looks like after I’ve put on the rest of my makeup–the Pür Minerals 4-in-1 powder, Marc Jacob’s brown highliner gel eye crayon, and a few swipes of Roller Lash mascara:

See what I mean? It’s kind of a miracle in a tube, and in this case, I really don’t think the grass could get any greener.

So, now I want to hear from my fellow red-cheeked ladies and anyone else who suffers from uneven skin tone. Have you ever tried a green-tinted primer? What have you tried that’s worked, and what hasn’t worked? What primer do you swear by? Let me know in the comments!
