One of the best things about New York Fashion Week is seeing all of the amazing new trends. We may not be able to wear a lot of the crazy runway trends or over-the-top street style looks, but there are always a number of beauty looks that we are able to copy. You just have to look beyond the faces covered with rhinestones and crazy-colored eyebrows. Whether you are looking to update your hair, makeup, or nails, the Fall 2016 shows had some fresh easy-to-pull-off ideas.

These are the five New York Fashion Week beauty trends you can actually wear:

1. Skinny Liner

How many different ways do you wear your liner? One? Give the cat eye a rest and try the look at the Herve Leger show. The entire perimeter of the models’ eyes was lined with a very skinny black liner to add a hint of definition.

To get the look, begin by evening out your complexion with foundation (MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation SPF 15). Add a bit of powder (Dior Diorskin Forever and Ever Control Loose Powder, $52) to prevent shine. For the eyes, use a black liquid liner with a very skinny brush (Make Up For Ever Ink Liner, $23) and trace around the entire perimeter of the eye. Skip the mascara. A natural lip balm (Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm in Peach Kiss, $5.50) is all you need to complete the look.

2. Low Ponytail Twist

It’s been all sky-high hairstyles for a while, but the Tommy Hilfiger offered a fresh take on the low ponytail thanks to a clever twist.

To get the look, use a straightener (CHI 1″ Tourmaline Flat Iron, $125) to get your locks super sleek. Next, apply some anti-frizz serum (Carol’s Daughter Sacred Tiare Anti-Breakage and Anti-Frizz Serum, $13) to your hair and gather it into a low ponytail with an elastic (Odeme Hair Ties, $12). Secure the elastic an inch or so down for your head. Use one hand to create an opening through your hair above the elastic and use the other hand to guide your ponytail through it. Secure with a few bobby pins (Urban Outfitters Jar of Bobbies, $8) and mist with hairspray (Dove Strength and Shine Extra Hold Hairspray, $4.74).

3. Color-Blocked Nails

Manicures can be very complicated, but the orange color-blocked nails at the Rebecca Minkoff are something that even nails art newbies can do.

NYFW Nail

Begin by filling your nails into an oval shape with a nail file (Tweezerman Pink Perfect Filemate Nail File 2-Pack, $5). Next, apply a base coat (OPI Infinite Shine Base Coat, $13). Then paint your nails with a bright orange nail polish (Essie Nail Color in Fifth Avenue, $8.50). When that is dry, apply a coral polish (Essie Nail Color in Van D’Go, $8.50) to the top half of your nail. If you have a shaky hand, use nail tape (Nasty Dress 10 Mixed Color Nail Tape Roles, $3.12) to get a crisp line. Remove the tape and finish with a shiny topcoat (NARS Nail Polish Top Coat, $20).

4. Unique Metallic Shadow

Gold and silver are the two most popular metallic shadows. The Lela Rose show featured models with a soft shadow that was a perfect mix of the two shades.

NYFW Nude Shadow

To recreate the look, apply a matte foundation (Too Faced Cocoa Powder Foundation, $34) to your face and concealer (bareMinerals Bare Skin Coverage Serum Concealer, $20) on any areas that you need it. For the eyes, look for a muted gold shadow (Stila Eyes Are The Window Palette, $49). If you cannot find one, mix a silver and gold shadow together. Then use a shadow brush (Julep Eyeshadow Brush, $18) to apply it to your lid and on the lower lash line. A nude lipstick (Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick in Nude Kate, $32) completes the look.

5. Banded Ponytail

At Suno, they offered an easy upgrade to your basic ponytail. Instead of just securing models’ ponies with hair elastics, they wrapped a piece of ribbon down the length of them.

For the look, apply a bit of gel (StyleSexyHair Holding Gel, $18) in the lengths of your hair for a very sleek look. Brush your hair into a low ponytail and secure with an elastic (H&M 10-Pack Hair Elastics, $2.99). Wrap a piece of ribbon (Midori Inc Double Faced Ribbon, $6.49) down the length of the pony, leaving a bit of your hair exposed at the end. Secure the top with bobby pins (Cara Bobby Pins, $8) and knot the end. Mist with hairspray (Sebastian Shaper Hairspray, $13), and you’re done.
